The Family Tree that you will initially see was put together to test the software and to get something to load on the internet for viewing.

The creation of the Family Tree will be an ongoing activity.

EXAMPLE OF HOW TO VIEW THE FAMILY TREE

Note this is based on our current very limited experience and will be updated as we get more experience and input from you. I will use myself and my brothers and family as an example.

​

  1. Select Name Index. This will display the last name of all people on the system and the number of people with that last name.

  2. Select George "Lavandaro" Fazzari Sr. At this point you will see the immediate Family of my father (Lavandaro was the family nick name in San Giorgio.

  3. If you now select my mother or in fact anyone listed you will see information of family members associated with that person.

  4. Beside each family member or symbols. As you mouse over these symbols you will see what they do. Try each of them.

  5. Play with the system and send your questions, difficulties, problems, etc to longoreunion@gmail.com and Laura or Donna will be happy to solve them.

UPDATE TO THE FAMILY TREE FROM YOU

​

The critical part will be getting accurate information on family members. There are many data fields available for personal information. We have selected what we consider to be the fields that pose the least risk of any negative impact to family members by sociopaths who might access the system.

 

These fields have been added to a form available from a sub menu of this screen titled FORM TO ADD TO FAMILY TREE. You should note the following:

  1. we currently have a security block on this menu item requiring any one who wants to access and use it to be approved. This will require that you register per instructions found on the screen when you first try to access the form. We can limit access to any part of this site including the entire site but no decision has been made as to whether it will be used and if used where. We will work under the assumption that anything we do will only keep out honest people and if someone has the skill set and desire to hack the system they will.

  2. If you are going to provide information to update the Family Tree be advised of the following:

    1. the only essential fields on the form are marked with a red * and are:

      1. your name and email in case we must contact you for clarifications

      2. the name of the linked person already on the family tree

      3. the name and sex of the person to be added and the relationship to the linked person already on the Tree

      4. all date fields are optional

  3. You are welcome to provide other information if you so desire but you will have to send it via an email.

HOTELS: Niagara Falls is a great location for families as there is so much to do. We will allow each family to arrange accommodations                    that are suitable to their situation. All information is available at Niagara Falls related web sites.

 

 

OTHER ACTIVITIES: We will advise as plans come together. We are developing a self guided tour of Welland with key sites marked                                        for anyone interested.

 

 

ASSUMPTIONS: Many of you have children with families of their own who are on the distribution list and will be receiving these announcements. Our concern when it comes to determining numbers is that they will respond and then you will include them in your response resulting in them being counted twice. We have decided that we will leave it up to each family as to how they want to manage this but when the time comes we will somehow have to be notified who is included in your count. WORKING ON THIS. WILL ADVISE.
